Capoeira Guanabara is a non-profit sports association offering training in Capoeira—a Brazilian martial art that blends dance, acrobatics, and music. Expect tough, ground-based training with an acrobatic movement style, high kicks, jump kicks, and spin kicks. Classes welcome both brave beginners and experienced practitioners, and are beginner-friendly and open to all levels. **Good to know** * Arrive at least 10 minutes before class to change and greet the group. * Classes are held at different locations – check each class description. * The gym entrance is locked, but the instructor will open about 15 minutes before class starts. * Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable workout clothes. Capoeira is usually practiced barefoot, but indoor shoes without black soles are also fine. * Bruce members are not covered by the studio’s insurance – please ensure you have your own.
